NEWSNOW | COLOMBO – Afternoon thunder showers can be expected during the next few days over the country particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern, Uva, North-Central, Central and Southern Provinces, the Meteorology Department said today.
The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Department said that heavy rainfalls above 100mm can also be expected at some places.
It also said that severe lightning and temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph are also possible during thunder showers.
