WB to Investigate Landslide

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board is conducting an investigation into the incident, where two youths died in their residence during a landslide.
The two youths who were victims of the incident were aged 16 and 11.

A damaged water pipeline of the area which had resulted in the softening of soil is suspected to be the reason behind the landslide.

Assistant General Manager of the Uva province of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, M.I.A. Latheef, said a six-member committee has been appointed to probe into the matter and that they are to commence investigations in the Welimada area.
