Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to visit Pakistan on Friday on a two day State visit.
The Sri Lankan President’s visit is scheduled from 10th – 11th of February and has been termed as a State visit in return to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to Sri Lanka in 2010.
President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari along with a high-powered delegation visited Sri Lanka in November 2010 on a four-day official visit and had held bilateral discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and officials of state as well as the private sector.
Secretary to the President, Lalith Weeratunge, Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris, Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabral and several other ministers and top government officials are expected to accompany the President during his visit to Pakistan.
Presidential Spokesman and International Media Advisor Bandula Jayasekara said that during his visit, the President is scheduled to hold talks with Pakistani President Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in addition to other engagements.
