Gold Smuggler Arrested at BIA

A Singaporean attempting to smuggle in gold to Sri Lanka was apprehended at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The Police suspect that the individual had assistance from the other suspect who is believed to be an employee of the airport, to smuggle in the goldCustom Officials at the BIA had arrested the two suspects and seized the gold while they were attempting to transport the gold out of the airport.The seized kilogram of gold is valued at approximately Rs.7 million.

The Suspects were to be produced in court after interrogation.
